Hamon [tempering pattern]: a combination of gunome [small pointed curves] with hakoba [square projections]
Boshi [tip]: midarekomi [undulating temper line] with a deep kaeri [turnback]
Horimono [carvings]: a single naginata hi [groove] on each side
Nakago [tang]: ubu [unaltered] with sujikai yasurime [diagonal file marks], one mekugi-ana [hole for the retaining peg], kurijiri [rounded heel], signed above the mekugi-ana Settsu no kami Tadayuki [Tadayuki, Guardian of Settsu province]
Fitted with a single silvered copper habaki [collar]
