TWO CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL VASES AND ONE PAIR OF CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL VASES
Late Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
The first of conical form rounded off towards the base, the pale blue enamel ground worked in silvered wire and shades of grey, white and black enamel with two swimming carp, applied with a gilt metal rim and foot, 9 5/8in. (24.5cm.) high; the second of elongated ovoid form with a short neck and splayed mouth, the grey enamel ground worked in silver wire with a spray of chrysanthemum, the foot with a band of keyfret in silver wire, applied with a gilt metal rim and foot, stamped mark Ito, 7in. (17.7cm.) high; the last a pair of baluster vases, the very pale grey-green enamel ground worked in 'wireless' cloisonné enamel with a spray of hydrangea, each applied with a silvered copper rim and foot stamped in the centre with the mark of Kumeno Teitaro, 10in.
