All iron and 19th century unless otherwise stated: Oval migakiji [polished ground], inlaid in iron, gilt and silver with a stirrup and a horse bit, signed Jakusuiken Masanori, 2 13/16in. (7.1cm.); broad oval, flowers, tendrils and roped borders in brass hirazogan [flush inlay], Heianjo school, 17th century, 2 13/16in. (7.1cm.); round ishimeji [stone texture], the thick plate pierced with four leaves, signed Akao Jinzaemon, 18th century, 2 7/8in. (7.4cm.); oval, tsuchimeji [hammered ground] plate with irregular piercings and gilt nunome [overlay] of chrysanthemum and shippo [geometric floral] patterns; 3in. (7.7cm.); mokkogata [square with indented corners], the plate chiselled with waves and with an anchor in kage-sukashi [negative piercing], the rim with geometric pattern in gilt nunome [gold overlay], 2¾in. (7cm.); mokkogata, tsuchimeji lightly carved and inlaid with Daruma and pierced with a latticed window, 17th century, 3 1/8in. (8cm.); sentoku,broad oval, ishimeji inlaid overall in low relief with silver tendrils, 2 11/16in.
