AN ITALIAN GILTWOOD, GREEN-PAINTED AND GREEN-GLASS DRESSING TABLE
Circa 1800
The hinged eared rectangular panelled top with semi-circular glass strips and scrolling corner-mounts framing a mirror with an applied cartouche headed by a coronet, correspondingly mirrored to the reverse, incorporating a green-painted fitted interior with ten various-sized lidded containers, two oval hairpin-cushions and one mirrored moulded tray, within a moulded inverted breakfront frieze with flower-filled entrelac, above tied garlands of laurel leaves, on square slightly tapering fluted legs headed by foliate clasps and terminating in a square base, on foliate-carved feet
