The corniche case engraved overall with running foliate scrolls, with arched panels to the sides framing thermometers with mother-of-pearl registers, both with alcohol tubes and for Réaumur/Centigrade, each inscribed to the top of the scale Paris/1802, with conforming engraving to a solid rear door signed to the centre within an interlaced cartouche BOURDIN Horloger du Roi Rue de la Paix PARIS, the top of the case likewise with an engraved panel with chamfered edges covering the escapement, also with engraved mask to the white enamel Roman dial, signed BOURDIN S.R DE SOURIAU H.R DU ROI RUE DE LA PAIX 24 A PARIS, with blued steel trefoil hands, a white enamel alarm disc below, the twin barrel movement with bimetallic balance to a platform lever escapement, with strike/repeat/alarm on bell to the backplate, with punched stamp to the lower edge B CHOT, the underside of the case numbered 125 twice, lacking base plate
