The regilded case with conjoined serpent handle and oak leaf and acorn mounts to the waisted top, leaf and berry mounts to the sides, with interlaced brass wire sound frets to the rear door, the base with later panel stamped FRUGT 1792 4 3bEV, the replaced white enamel Roman dial with gilt-metal hands and brass alarm-setting disc (damages and restorations), later dial plate to the twin barrel movement with pull wind alarm and pull wind quarter repeat on two bells via three hammers, rackwork planted on the backplate punch-numbered 3858, with bridgecock verge escapement; possibly composite
