The hood (formerly rising) with later stepped top and later blind fret panel, glazed rectangular side panels, replaced spiral-twist pilasters, with convex throat mouldings, the trunk with later moulded frame to a door with reserves of floral urn marquetry and centred by a lenticle, reveneered sides, the plinth with later marquetry panel depicting a hunting scene, raised on a later base with bracket feet, the 11in. square brass dial with engraving to the borders and cherub mask and foliate spandrels to a silvered chapter ring with elaborate cross half hour markers, signed John Barnett Londini fecit, the matted centre with date aperture and ringed winding holes, engraving to the dial centre, with silvered subsidiary seconds ring, blued steel hands, the movement with pinned dial feet and six latched and ringed pillars, large external countwheel strike on bell and bolt-and-shutter maintaining power; case associated to dial and movement
