Lot Essay

Similar to a drawing by Campagnola sold at Christie's New York, 28 January 2000 and to others at Chatsworth, M. Jaffé, The Devonshire Collection of Italian Drawings, London, 1994, nos. 748 and 750-60. The Christie's drawing, which came from Zaccaria Sagredo, had the same inscription on the verso, with the number '30'.
