This is part of a large group of drawings by Tintoretto from Reynolds' collection, all bearing an 18th Century attribution to Tintoretto. Some of these sheets are illustrated in P. The posture of the figure in the present drawing bears similarities with that of Saint Mark in The translation of Saint Mark in the Accademia, Venice.
