A Meissen Kakiemon leaf-shaped dish
Circa 1730, blue crossed swords mark and incised .Xv
The upper-half with chequered decoration with panels of various diaper ornament, spiral ornament and gilt flowerheads against iron-red grounds, the lower-half moulded with veins and decorated in the Kakiemon palette enriched with gilding with a bird in flight above flowering shrubs issuing from rockwork, brown serrated rim (two small restored rim chips, small areas of re-painting to brown line rim to disguise flaking or minute chipping)
