Lot Essay

Louis Aston Knight was the son of Daniel Ridgway Knight a well known American painter who exhibited both in Europe and the United States. Aston Knights early training was in Paris in the studios of Jules Lefebvre and Robert Fleury. He recieved a gold medal in the Exposition Universalle in 1900 and an honorable mention in the Salon of 1901.
