The first with curved single-edged curved blade (minor pitting) with wide fuller on each face, etched, blued and gilt over two-thirds of its length, gilt-brass hilt, lion's head pommel, and wire-bound wooden grip, in its black leather scabbard with gilt-brass locket, middle-band and chape (leather incomplete, some wear to gilding throughout); the second with regulation blade etched with foliage, 'VR' cypher, thunderbolt, scrolls inscribed 'Royal Artillery', and cartouche containing a crest and the name 'L.F. Perry', and wire-bound shagreen-covered grip, in regulation steel scabbard (blade worn, minor defects)
