A Model Of The Triple Cockpit Chris Craft Speedboat TYPHOON
Anonymous; American, 20th century.
The hull of the model is built up from the solid and planked with strips of mahogany veneer. The topsides are finished bright with a chrome sheer stripe and the bottom is painted white. The deck of the model is also planked in mahogany alternating with basswood to give the appearance of caulking and is also finished bright. The model is well detailed with numerous chrome fittings which include: stem fitting, jackstaff, running lights, search light, horns, step plates, engine vents, cleats, windshields, wheel, dashboard, hand rails, and numerous other details. The coamings and seats of the three cockpits are covered in black leather, the engine hatch is hinged and opens to reveal a model of the engine and gas tanks. The model is dispalyed on a mahogany base mounted on chrome pedestals.
