A SMALL BLUE AND WHITE STEM-CUP
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN A HORIZONTAL LINE INSIDE THE FOOT AND OF THE PERIOD


Painted on the exterior with lanca characters within a continuous lotus scroll on the flaring sides above a band of trefoil lappets, the tall flaring foot with pendent tassels below a lightly moulded band of flower-heads and key-pattern, the centre of the interior with a lotus arabesque (tiny rim-chip re-applied)--3 3/8in. (8.5cm.) high

A similar stem-cup in the National Palace Museum, Taiwan, is illustrated, Blue and White Ware of the Ch'ing Dynasty, Book II, pl. 30; and another example of larger size is in the Roemer Museum, Hildesheim, illustrated in the Catalogue of the Ohlmer Collection, no. 59
