A BLUE AND WHITE BOWL
ENCIRCLED GUANGXU SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

Painted with nine mythical beasts on a ground of pencilled cresting waves, all between formal borders, the interior with a single dragon--8¼in. (21cm.) diam.; a doucai conical bowl, encircled Guangxu four-character mark and of the period, painted and enamelled around the exterior with roundels of heavily foliated peach trees, divided by pairs of iron-red pomegranates, the medallion with a peony spray (chips polished)--4¼ in. (10.7cm.) diam.; a rare sancai vase and stand, Liao Dynasty, the body carved with four leafy peony sprays between lappet borders, the recessed stand supported by a peony-shaped foot (glaze flakes)--9¾in. (24.6cm.) high; and a gilt-bronze zun cover, Western Han Dynasty, the shallow tiered dome surmounted by a phoenix finial (losses)--7 5/8 in. (19.2cm.) diam. (4)
