BLACK ENAMEL YONGZHENG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

Finely painted around the globular body with two iron-red scaly five-clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls amid cloud scrolls between lappets encircling the base and a band of dots around the neck, divided by two iron-red mock monster-mask handles, the small squat pear-shaped wine pot supported on a tall cylinder, the body with matching decoration, the slightly curved spout opposite the thin looped handles painted with iron-red bats in flight amid further cloud scrolls, the cylindrical support similarly decorated, the small circular cover surmounted by a lotus bud painted knop--7 5/8 in. Wine warmers of this type are extremely rare, however an unmarked Qianong example is included in this sale as lot 828.
