Of compressed globular form on a flat base fitted with a u-shaped, hinged copper handle fastened to plum-blossom supports, the interior also lined in copper and the domed cover silver engraved with floral diaperwork, the borders of which are pierced; the exterior of the brazier decorated in iro-e hiramaki-e, hirame and nashiji with cards against a nashiji ground continued on the base, three 'porthole' apertures carved into the sides through which the copper basin is visible--with handle raised 11¼in. (28.7cm.) high, approx. diameter 8½in. (21.6cm.)
