The base containing six fan-shaped trays arranged in two circular tiers surrounding the base of the sake bottle, and six food containers stacked in pairs in three tapering levels surrounding the bottle, topped by a pointed cap, fitted with gilt-metal kuwagata, a mamukai decorated with a dragon, the black lacquer ground designed in iro-e hiramaki-e and gold foil, the interiors of the food compartments, cap, base, and underside of the visor in red lacquer--13in. (33.5cm.) diameter, 13½in. (34cm.) high
