HE CHAOZONG SEAL MARK, 17TH/18TH CENTURY

The well-modeled bodhisattva shown seated atop a rocky pedestal rising from waves interspersed with lotus stems, with left hand supported by a book and right hand resting atop the right knee, wearing a skirt tied at the waist and a scarf around the shoulders, the face modeled with gentle expression as the eyes gaze downwards towards the young acolyte standing on an outcropping of rock to one side, the back molded with the seal mark of He Chaozong, covered overall with a glaze of ivory tone
