Maker's mark of William Gayle, circa 1825
Comprising: a teapot, two-handled covered sugar basin and milk jug, each inverted pear form, with broadly fluted corners, on molded circular base, engraved with foliate script initials, with partly molded scroll handle, the teapot with partly paneled and molded swan's neck spout, with hinged partly low domed cover topped by baluster finial, with die rolled tongue-and-dart rims--the teapot 10½in. (26.6cm.) high, gross weight 34.5oz. (3)
