The large clock cast in the form of a drum on a tall, tripod support and cast on the body with dragons and shishi; the chapter ring of the face with enamel numerals and the hands of the clock modelled as a writhing dragon, one hand replaced, and the sides of the clock cast with mask and ring handles, the top of the clock surmounted by a large, dancing karako placed on rectangular plinth which opens to an interior rectangular cavity, signed on a square gilt plaque on the underside of the karako plinth Banei seizo--48¾in. (124cm.) high, not including the gold-lacquered rosewood base
