The circular box resting on a slightly concave base inlaid on the cover in white and black slip with a large chrysanthemum floret in a star-shaped reserve, both reverse-inlaid, bordered by five almond-shaped reserves each containing a white and black-slip chrysanthemum, further decorated with two white slip lines and a band of overlapping petals in white and black slip with a white slip edge, the rims of the upper and lower box also encircled by bands of fretwork in white slip, covered overall in a greyish-green celadon glaze. rich green and thick in places, and with overall crackle--3 5/8in. (9.1cm.) diameter
