etching and drypoint in dark brown, 1879-80, on heavy laid Japan, a fine, atmospheric impression, with a veil of plate tone in the water, third state (of eleven), trimmed close to the platemark by the artist, signed with the butterfly and inscribed 'imp' in pencil on the tab, an uninked hair at the bottom left, inherent in the printing, remains of old paper and attendant glue along the reverse of the sheet edges, otherwise generally in very good condition, framed
