A LOUIS XV SILVER CRUET STAND
TOULOUSE, 1770, MAKER'S MARK OF BARTHELEMY SAMSON

Of shaped oval form on four scroll supports, the wavy everted sides elaborately applied with foliage and pierced and chased with panels of diaperwork, with two circular frames pierced and chased with foliate scrolls and grapevine, fitted with two foliate finials, marked on base, frames and one stopper; also struck with post-1838 control mark--11in. (28cm.) long
