THE FINE AND EXTENSIVE COLLECTION
OF A
PROMINENT ILLINOIS CORPORATION
Lots 92 - 375
It is with great pleasure that Christie's represents this
distinguished collection of a prominent Illinois corporation.
Begun in the early 1960's, the collection was built for the
purpose of entertaining the host or international clients that
regularly visit the firm's headquarters. Though still a resource for hospitality, the firm recently determined to thin out its cellar and
replenish it with younger wines.
This remarkable cache has always been considered a valued corporate asset and has been immaculately stored for roughly thirty years in specially designed underground cellars which maintain a constant temperature of 59-61°. During this time the temperature and humidity conditions were vigilantly monitored three times a day, and the wines were virtually undisturbed. As a result, the entire cellar is in remarkable general condition, with high levels and deep color.
