On moulded base, the case glazed with four beveled panels, the rounded angles, supporting plain cornice, the gilt dial engraved with strapwork and scrolls, silvered roman chapters ring, blued steel hands, the twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, spring suspended two-jar mercury pendulum with rating nut, striking the hours and quarters on two gongs, English/French, mid 19th century -- 15in.
