Raised on bun feet, the skirted plinth with carved panel of village scene with three mediaeval men gaming around a table, curved reeded moulding below trunk enhanced with elaborately carved pilasters each capped by lion's head, leafy swags above the galzed door, curved fluted moulding below the hood with carved leafy pilasters flanking the arched door and supporting arched gadrooned cornice carved with leafy scroll masks to the sides with grotesque mask between, flamked by moulded ball fnials (one now lacking), the dial with aperture for age and aspect of moon in the arch, silvered chapter ring with raised gilt arabic numerals, enclosing seconds ring and winding holes in the engraved and matted center, leafy gilt spandrels, lever for strike/silent at nine o'clock, the substantial movement with dead-beat escapement, Harrison maintaining power,rack striking the hour and half-hour on gong, spring suspension to steel rock pendulum with brass bob, c. 1890 -- 101in.
