Of oval form, the base applied with a band of stylized foliage on a matted ground, the sides chased with paneled scenes of vari-colored gold figures dancing in a landscape, a tree, birds, flowerbaskets and floral swags against a reeded and matted ground, the hinged domed cover with similar decoration, the diamond thumbpiece formed as a stylized flowerhead, apparently unmarked except for later French control marks --2 1/2in. (6.3cm.) high
