Of oval form, the base with applied stiff leaf band, the sides chased with vari-colored flowerheads on a matted ground, enclosed by trelliswork paneling, the ends applied with silver drapery swags, the hinged domed cover with similar stiff leaf band and applied with vari-colored flowers witin a foliate cartouche, the bead finial with diamond decoration, apparently unmarked except for later French control marks--2 7/8in. (7.4cm.) high
