Hall, the compressed spherical body with long spreading neck on raised circular base, the base chased and engraved with flower divided above by ruffled shell, the body two sides with vacant foliate scroll enclosed shaped oval cartouche flanked by outreaching partial angels, the bottom with grosteque mask, the front applied with cast lioness's mask, the ground chased and engraved with flowers, foliage and rocaille on matted ground, the neck with long oval panels of floral festoons below finely reeded band, above with chased acanthus band, the spout with similar cartouche and decoration, with part foliate scroll handle, the hinged partly domed cover topped by open foliate scroll finial, with ivory insulators--16in. (40.6cm.) high, gross weight 40oz.
