The tray of rectangular shape and raised on four bracket feet with angled upper edges, decorated on the surface in gold takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, okibirame, uchikomi and gold foil on a bright nashiji ground with chrysanthemums, embellished by drops of dew inlaid in silver, 'bamboo' trellises, rocks, a river, two minogame crawling on the banks and two crests of the Hosokawa family, the underside matching nashiji; together with a cylindrical incense box, 18th century, decorated in gold hiramaki-e and gold foil on a nashiji ground with sprays of maple and chrysanthemum, the lid pierced with a silver-lined cross-shaped aperture to receive game tallies, the interior nashiji
