Of rectangular shape with angled corners and upper edges, decorated on the lid in gold and silver takamaki-e and hiramaki-e with a frog in a lotus pond below gold and silver togidashi clouds, the ground roiro-nuri, the interior of the lid and removable utensil trays decorated in iro-e hiramaki-e with rectangular European playing cards on a roiro and mura-nashiji ground, the left tray holding an inkstone inscribed on the base Takashima ishi Matsui Nakamitsu (stone from Takashima (carved by) Matsui Nakamitsu), and a copper gourd-form mizuire applied with two leaves enamelled in green set in a parcel-gilt saucer, and with one brush, the lower section of the box below the trays and the base roiro and nashiji
