A CONTEMPORARY SHINO-STYLE TEA-CEREMONY FOOD DISH (MUKOZUKE)
(20th century), signed ro [kitaoji rosanjin (1883-1959)]
Of square shape with slightly upturned corners, incised in the well with arching grasses which have been brushed with white slip, surrounded by umber-colored scorches from the firing, the underside virtually all scorched umber, signed on the base with the katakana character Ro; in wood tomobako inscribed on the lid Shino shiho hiramuko--ichi (one square flat food dish) and signed with katakana character Ro
