Lot Essay

This tsuba pierced in Kyoto style (kyo-sukashi tsuba) with an 'eight-plank' bridge (Yatsuhashi) design exemplifies the love of motifs taken from literature that manifested itself during the 16th century. In this case, the source of inspiration is the Tales of Ise, written by an unknown author in the 10th century.
