The shakudo nanako fuchi and kashira are decorated in gold, copper, and shakudo inlay with swallows and poetry cards.

Lot Essay

Kono Haruaki (1787-1860) was a student of Yanagawa Naoharu (fl. 1785), from whom he took the first kanji of his name. In 1830 he was given the title Hogen by the Tokugawa authorities.
