A SANO SCHOOL SET OF TSUBA WITH FUCHI KASHIRA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1760), SIGNED NAOYOSHI WITH KAO
The shakudo tsuba has a large grain nanako surface that is decorated with inlaid gold crests and open fans. The fuchi kashira is decorated en suite--height of tsuba 7.9cm., width 7.6cm., thickness 5.25mm.; height of fuchi 4cm., thickness 1.5cm.

Descriptif du lot

Sano Naoyoshi was active in the mid to late eighteenth century. He is considered the founder of the Sano school. He was a retainer of the Akimoto daimyo of Tatebayashi in Kozuke Province.
