AN OGURI SCHOOL KOZUKA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1800), SIGNED BAIIN ROJIN ITTEI WITH KAO
The polished shakudo frameless plate is decorated in high relief and inlaid in gold, copper, silver, and shakudo. The decoration depicts Handaka Sonja riding a dragon. The back is polished and there are several dents in the area of the signature--length 9.6cm., thickness 6.75mm.
Lot Essay
Oguri Ittei lived in Echizen province around 1800. He signed himself Baiin, Rojin, Baishoken, Itteisai, and Oinrojin. Nothing else is known about him.
