A MYOCHIN PART UCHIDASHI-DO
EDO PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY, SIGNED MYOCHIN KI MUNEYOSHI SAKU
Comprising a breastplate deeply molded and chiselled with a figure of Fudo Myo-o holding a ken and parasu while wrapped in flames of power and standing on a sea-swept rock, signed on the reverse Myochin Ki Mumeyoshi saku. The plain munaita joins the do and the oshitsuke ita with thin blue cord. The oshitsune ita and waki ita are edged with gilt copper decorated with shakudo nanako and engraved foliage. Two sideplates flank and below is a half-circle mail overlaid with three separate panels of mail enclosed by silk brocade panels.
