A 28-PLATE O-BOSHI-SUJI-BACHI
EDO PERIOD, 17TH CENTURY
The bowl, with dry brown patina, fitted on the fore and aft plates with five diminishing hoshi set onto a shinodare; the base of the bowl set with plates of running lappets, the whole surmounted by a copper and shakudo tehen-kanamono of later date. The mabisashi and flaring fukigaeshi are applied with a thin suede printed in black and red with shishi and botan and the blue-laced 4-lame shikoro lacquered dull brown, unsigned.
