A SILVER AND GILT-INLAID IRON BOX AND COVER
CHOSON PERIOD (19TH CENTURY)
The deep rectangular box and cover inlaid on each side with a narrow band of fretwork enclosing a field of diaperwork and a large roundel containing respectively on the four sides a gilt stag, crane, stag and crane, the cover matching with the roundel containing a large gilt yin-yang 'double-comma' medallion, set on four ball feet, the interior undecorated- 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 x 3 1/4 in. (12 x 8.9 x 8.1 cm.)
