Hexagonal baluster, repousse and chased below with elaborate foliate scrolls on a matted ground, the corners chased with matted foliate vertical bands below a foliate scroll rim, applied under the lip with leaves, with foliate-clad scroll handle, the hinged domed cover with similar foliate bands and hexagonal baluster finial, engraved on one side Presented to John M. Scott, Esqr. LATE MAYOR of the City of Philadelphia BY HIS OFFICERS As a testimonial of their high respect and regard for his Urbanity as a Man, and Uprightness as a Magistrate, January 1845, marked--12in. high
