A FINE AND RARE SILVER COVERED TUREEN ON STAND
MAKER'S MARK OF BALDWIN GARDINER, NEW YORK, CIRCA 1820
Circular, the spreading circular foot repousse and chased with a band of palmettes, the body chased below with flutes with flowers between, and above with a band of elaborate acanthus scrolls and flowerheads, the fluted and tied acanthus scroll handles issuing from bearded masks, the domed cover with similar applied palmette rim below bands of palmettes and fluting, with bud finial, engraved with a crest, the circular stand raised on four shell and scroll feet, with similar bands and engraved with a coat-of-arms and the same crest, marked--14 1/2in. high
