EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1825)

The round petal-form iron plate is pierced with a design of a plum branch and cloud forms. The blooms have fine line carving. There are some rust areas on the plate--height and width 8.2cm., thickness 5.25mm.

Lot Essay

This style and quality of work is typical of the finest tsuba produced by Kamiyoshi Fukanobu (1798-1851).
