The shakudo nanako plate is decorated with a large radish (daikon). The leaves are in shakudo and gold and the radish is silver. The frame is shakudo with some rubbing on both sides--length 21.0cm., width 1.3cm., thickness 4.5mm.
Lot Essay
This kogai was remounted from an earlier piece. Usually this was done when a kogai was remounted as a kozuka, but in this case it would seem that the earlier frame may have been damaged.
