A GOTO STYLE KOZUKA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1750)

The shakudo nanako plate is inlaid in high relief with three fans, one is broken and one is partly open. They are in gold, silver and shakudo. The frame is made of wood with a strong red and black grain--height 9.7cm., width 1.5cm., thickness 7.0mm.

Lot Essay

Though the design plate is in pure Goto style, the wood frame is most unusual.
