Lot Essay

There were four generations of artists who signed Tomoyoshi. The first (fl. 1750) was of the Hirano family and signed with that family name. The second (fl. 1775) was of the Ichiryu (Hitotsuyanagi) family and signed with that name. The third and fourth generations (fl. 1800 and 1825) also signed with the Ichiryu family name.
