A MITO SCHOOL FUCHI KASHIRA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1800), SIGNED SEISHI CHIKUSANKEN TSUKURU

Each piece is of shibuichi plate. The fuchi has a design of flowers and grass in shakudo and gold. The kashira is carved with a silver moon and a shakudo cricket in carved grass.

Lot Essay

There were at least five artists who used this art name (zokumyo) in their signature. Most of them lived in the Mito area and worked under the names of Motomasa, Motonaga or Mototoshi. They were from the Ono and the Oyama families.
