A GEORGE III SILVER COFFEE BIGGEN ON A LATER STAND, London, 1809, maker's mark of Paul Storr, the stand 1814, apparently Paul Storr, maker's mark very worn, burner unmarked, urn form with spreading neck, with applied rib, the shoulder chased with tongue and dart band, applied band to neck, the everted applied spout applied with stylized anthemion, the bone scroll handle with serpent's head top join, the end terminating in bifurcated serpent's tail, with the hinged partly raised cover topped by bud finial, the circular gadrooned stand raised on four lion's paw, acanthus clad scroll supports, with plain burner--coffee biggen on stand 12½in. (31.7cm.) high, gross weight, burner not weighed 39oz.
