Third edition of Platina's famous history of the lives of the popes, dedicated to his patron, Pope Sixtus IV, among whose many contributions to the arts and letters was the establishment of the Vatican library with Platina as librarian. BMC suggests that this edition may equally well have been printed at Venice, since the paper, marked with a crescent, was used in both cities at this date.
