A CONTEMPORARY METAL VASE
20TH CENTURY, SIGNED MASA (TANAKA MASAYUKI)
Of compressed ovoid form resting on a recessed base and rising to a short, cylindrical neck, the evenly fluted sides worked in a nickel finish and applied with a mist-like pattern of gilt, five concentric lines applied at the waist and two greenish-gold bands surrounding the neck, incised on the recessed base with metalsmith's mark Masa- 5 7/8 in. (15 cm.) high
